Indian
healthcare industry is expected to grow at 15% p.a.
to US $ 78.6Bn by 2012 driven largely by private sector
investments which currently accounts for nearly 80%
of the total healthcare investment. However, significant
challenges remain including severe shortage of health
infrastructure and human resources. Clearly a lot needs
to be done to meet the globally high standards in the
current decade. A wave of new health care innovation
coupled with optimal utilization of resources could
help immensely in addressing affordability & accessibility
aspects in order to take world class healthcare facilities
beyond the metros. This conference aims to discuss the
desired changes needed to meet all the existing challenges
and suggest a well-defined policy framework to meet
the same.
